Unblocking Those Drains

Drains are fixtures that acts as an exist point for wastewater. However, they could be also be used as a connecting pipe for water that is to be recycled. Supposedly, we all have been through the unfortunate problem of a drain blockage. We are well aware of just how frustrating, and quite frankly a little bit gross of how bad a clogged drain could be. When all of the dirty water has settled in your sink or tub and it just settles there and stares right at you. And no matter how hard you try to play plumber, it just simply would not go away. Some people may even be too embarrassed of calling a plumber, because then he would have to experience and endure that nasty clogged water too. You would think by now, they would be expecting that, but for some of us, our pride is truly our downfall. But dealing with a clogged drain is just point blank, no fun at all. But, do not forget that all plumbing systems experience blockage from time to time. It is just one of those bugs in our daily life that is just simply unavoidable but completely fixable. Thankfully, there are a few, quick home remedies you can all try and exhaust before making that one phone call to your plumber, in order to clear blocked drains. But first, you must ensure that you are well equipped for the job. You must gather up your materials and do not be afraid of putting a little elbow grease into it. Play plumber for a day, and save yourself a pretty penny while you are it. The tools that you will need to clear blocked drains are:

There are many different home remedies that you could try in order to clear blocked drains, however, there is a six simple step method that you is recommended you attempt.

1. Using white vinegar or vinegar concentrate, pour approximately a quarter cup down your clogged drain and let it stand there for about 20-30 minutes. Another action that can be used in order to clear blocked drains is to pour a quarter cup of baking soda prior to the pouring of the vinegar. That foaming, bubbly action could help to clear the drain.

2. Next, heat some water in a kettle and pour the boiling water down the drain.

3. Using a plunger consistently, try to agitate the clogged material in the drain. It may be necessary to block any sink overflow in order to help build suction power.

4. Flush the drain again with hot water, and you may use a pipe cleaner or a wire coat hanger to poke down any clogging materials that you suspect are in the drain.

5. Allow that water to drain down.

6. Repeat the prior steps, until your sink or drain becomes clear.
